Utah State University is working to address statewide nursing shortages with their ACEN-accredited Nursing programs. USU Nursing programs award the practical nursing certificate to prepare for licensure as a practical nurse in Blanding, Moab, and Price. The associate of applied science in nursing prepares students to become entry-level registered nurses through our programs in Blanding, Cedar City, Moab, Price, Tooele, and the Uintah Basin. The Bachelor of Science in nursing is offered only in Logan and prepares students to perform broader and more complex nursing procedures. Students have access to affordable programs supported by scholarships and state-of-the-art technology equipped with simulation labs as they prepare for licensure. Brigham Young University-Provo (BYU) is located in Provo, Utah. This school was established way back in 1875. This is a private non-profit research university that is actually owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Utah Valley University (UVU) is located in Orem, Utah. There are satellite campuses located in Heber City, Spanish Fork, North Orem, Provo Municipal Airport, and Lehi. This is a public university that was established in 1941as a state college but it attained university status in 2008. UVU is a large school that serves close to 40,000 students. The University of Utah is in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is a public institution and part of the Utah System of Higher Education. It is the flagship university of the state and offers over 100 undergraduate degree programs and two graduate degree programs. Weber State University is located in Ogden, Utah. This public university was established way back in 1889. It transitioned from being a junior college to a state college over time and attained university status in 1991.
